As a debate rages that it was not coincidence, bad luck or just over zealous cloud seeding which let loose a torrent of rain in the UAE this week, some say it was global warming. Anyway, unlucky for the folks visiting for another party - er conference (in crypto land they say some find it hard to discern the difference between the two) the WSJ notes: Huge Dubai Flood Disrupts Crypto Conferences. There is an amusing story in the Popb*tch newsletter this week concerning said Token2049 conference. “PB” notes “One of the big exhibitors – EtherMail – is running a prize draw, offering a jackpot to one lucky winner who is prepared to walk around the conference wearing one of the crypto brand's T-shirts.

The big prize at this crypto conference?

$1,000. In cash.”

While hoping everybody is fine in the occasionally swampy deserts of Dubai…
